El Beat

El Beat is an immersive and dreamlike experience about music, rebellion, and freedom. Based on a true story, a musician in search of his roots and identity arrives in San Basilio de Palenque, the first free city in America. There he meets Rafael Cassiani, a traditional Palenquero maestro who preserves a very old musical tradition. Through this encounter, the story of Benkos Biohó, the African slave who rebelled and fled to find Palenque, will come to light.
