Cervantes in Films

Among the cultural events honoring Miguel de Cervantes, who passed away 400 years ago, Instituto Cervantes, the Embassy of Spain and the FDCP have scheduled this cycle of films inspired by Cervantes’ life or writings. On one hand, the films series features two adaptations of Cervantes’ main work, Don Quijote de la Mancha –the animation film produced by Cruz Delgado in 1997 and Gutiérrez Aragón’s El caballero don Quijote (2001). On the other hand, the cycle will show the documentary Quijote cabalgando por el cine (2007) and the feature film Las gallinas de Cervantes, based on a story penned by Spanish writer Ramón J. Sender.
