7th International Conference of the Manuel Vázquez Montalbán Studies Association

The University of Edinburgh will host the 7th International Conference of the Manuel Vázquez Montalbán Studies Association from 22 to 24 October 2025. Under the title Other Narratives, this edition invites reflection on the diverse ways in which Vázquez Montalbán’s work has been reimagined, reinterpreted and expanded through graphic novels, literary continuations, television series, theatre, and other contemporary adaptations.

The conference will bring together scholars, researchers and creative practitioners from a range of disciplines to explore the enduring legacy of the author in its most dynamic and transformative dimensions. It will be a space for dialogue, critical analysis and the celebration of a body of work that continues to inspire new forms of storytelling.
