The Edgar Allison Peers Symposium 2026

The 2026 edition of the Edgar A. Peers Symposium will be dedicated to commemorating one hundred years of Catalan Studies at the University of Liverpool, an academic tradition that began in 1926 under Professor Edgar Allison Peers. The symposium will examine the historical trajectory of Catalan Studies, its impact on the international academic sphere, and the future challenges in teaching and research.

As part of the centenary celebrations, a concert by The Tyets has been scheduled at The Cavern Club on 10 March, an iconic music venue in Liverpool that reinforces the cultural connection with the city.
