Collection highlight: International Women's Day 2026

The children's area of the Instituto Cervantes Library in Manchester joins the celebration of International Women’s Day 2026 with a themed display that places girls at the centre.

A selection of children's books aimed at different ages, reading stages, and interests highlights and celebrates the social progress achieved by the movement for equal rights. It also acknowledges with gratitude the legacy of the many remarkable women who brought us to where we are today and encourages us to continue defending the rights gained and advancing toward real equality.

We also join and support the United Nations’ international call to defend the rights of girls who are victims of deprivation and injustice in countries across the world.
