Peris+Toral Arquitectes José Hevia

The Cervantes Chair at the University of Edinburgh, the Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (ESALA), Edinburgh College of Art, and The Glasgow School of Art present two lectures by the Barcelona-based practice Peris+Toral Arquitectes, recipients of the 2024 RIBA International Award for Excellence.

The lectures, taking place in Edinburgh and Glasgow, will explore the studio’s approach to the climate and housing emergencies through a framework of holistic sustainability. Peris+Toral Arquitectes emphasise the interconnection between environmental, economic, and social dimensions in the development of contemporary architectural solutions.

Their work has been exhibited at leading international institutions such as the Cité de l'Architecture in Paris, the Venice Biennale, the UIA in Tokyo, and exhibitions in Seoul. Marta Peris holds a PhD in architecture and is a lecturer at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, while José Toral is an associate professor in the Department of Architectural Design at the same university. Since 2024, both have been guest professors at EPFL Lausanne.
