O futebol explores a complicated balancing act between fiction and reality, and begins with the real-life meeting of the director and his father. The script was written as a work of fiction by Sergio Oksman and Carlos Muguiro: many of the scenes are filmed from a car, capturing a journey of feelings and football for a father and son who are ruled by the match calendar. And, in the same way as a game of football, the reality is unforeseeable.
