Nine voices for Poetic Reason: María Zambrano from the Present

Nine voices for Poetic Reason: María Zambrano from the Present Kike Garpe

María Zambrano developed an extensive intellectual and essay catalogue throughout the 20th century. Her greatest contribution to the philosophical universe was her concept of Poetic Reason. However, her philosophy, difficult to classify, was never parallel to his time. What is the relevance of her thinking? To what extent she has influenced beyond her philosophy? There are just two questions that Beatriz Caballero, one of the leading researchers on the works of the Malaga thinker, asked at the start of this project. In order to expand her research, she asked the same questions to different intellectuals from many different disciplines who, throughout their careers, had shown a clear interest in Zambrano’s ideas. These nine voices that we hear below reflect upon the concept of Poetic Reason and reveal to us the true validity and relevance that it has had, both at its conception, and in the present day.

The Instituto Cervantes invites you to get to know the Malaga-born philosopher María Zambrano from a different perspective with contributions of nine voices from fields such as photography, literature or art history.
