Instituto Cervantes Storytelling, coordinated by Magaly Flores, returns in May with Mi primer Platero (My first Platero), by Juan Ramón Jiménez. The programme wants to encourage children's interest and motivation in reading through stories, music and creative crafts in a way that allows their imaginations to soar and transports them to new worlds. Platero was not a donkey like the others. He was small, grey, soft, and his eyes shone like two black crystals. With his friend Juan Ramón, he would go for walks in the fields, lie down on the grass, help anyone who needed it, and play with the village children. Can a donkey be the inseparable friend of a poet?

The event is free, but advance booking is advised by Eventbrite.

We have reduced the capacity to increase space between seats, so everyone can enjoy the event safely. Although masks are no longer mandatory under Government guidance, we strongly encourage everyone to wear one when in close proximity to others, particularly when entering and leaving the event. We also encourage everyone to use the sanitation stations and sign in using track and trace when they arrive.
