Miúcha, la voz de la bossa nova [Miúcha, the Voice of Bossa Nova]

Heloïsa Maria Buarque de Hollanda was a small, restless child, quickly nicknamed ‘Miúcha’. She was raised by bohemian parents and shaped by early interactions with high-profile houseguests such as Jean Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir. But Miúcha had a style of her own which set the course for her life as a performer.

Miúcha collaborated with the three leading artists of bossa nova: Tom Jobim, Stan Getz, and João Gilberto, whom she married. Yet, she had to learn, through confidence and fortitude, to claim the spotlight she deserved.
