Mexico 200. Folkdance Festival
In September 2021, Mexico celebrates the bicentenary of its independence, a month that includes the commemoration of the most important historical events that have given identity to the Mexican people. We invite you to commemorate this day with the Mexico 200. Folkdance Festival with Colibrí Mexican Folkdance UK, directed by choreographer Magaly Flores, showing the most representative folk dances of different Mexican areas. The event is introduced by Dr Francisco Eissa-Barroso (University of Manchester), who talks about the importance of the bicentenary in Mexican culture. Colibrí Mexican Folkdance UK is a Mexican folk dance ballet, integrated by Mexicans, under the general and artistic director of Magaly Flores and to promote and disseminate the traditions of Mexico through folk dance.
