Los pájaros que volaron del cuadro (The birds that flew out of the painting)
The 'Instituto Cervantes Storytelling' is pleased to host this session dedicated to the Nicaraguan writer Sergio Ramírez and his children's story Los pájaros que volaron del cuadro (The birds that flew out of the painting), which was awarded the Cuatrogatos Foundation Prize in 2020.
Los pájaros que volaron del cuadro tells the story of a grandmother who was painting a picture of birds. Looking for somewhere with more light, she took it to the garden and placed it under a guava tree. As she went inside to get brushes, the birds escaped from the painting in search of fruit that did not taste like oil and turpentine. The worried grandparents asked their granddaughter, Mariana, to persuade the birds to return to the canvas, but they did not count on the cunning nature of the impertinent Great Kiskadee birds.
The story will be read by teacher Magaly Flores, who will suggest creative activities for its understanding, in addition, the children will have the opportunity to meet Sergio Ramírez and ask him about the worlds and fables he has created in his stories.
