Instituto Cervantes Manchester is launching a new edition of its Ibero American Literature Reading Club lead by Dr Mariana Casale. A unique opportunity to discover the best literature and enhance your knowledge of the Spanish language.

There will be seven sessions that will take place through Zoom free software and in Spanish

  • 13th January: «Por las azoteas» and «Espumante en el sótano» by Julio Ramón Ribeyro.
  • 27th January: «Cavatina» by Angélica Gorodischer and «Lejana» by Julio Cortázar.
  • 10th February: «Nota al pie» by Rodolfo Walsh and «El que vino a salvarme» by Virgilio Piñera.
  • 24th February: «Buen viaje Señor Presidente» by Gabriel García Márquez and «Alienación» by Julio Ramón Ribeyro.
  • 10th March: «Forod» by Rodolfo Walsh and «Un accidente llamado familia» by Katya Adaui.
  • 24th March: «La camara oscura» by Angélica Gorodischer and «La felicidad repulsiva de la familia M» by Guillermo Martínez.
  • 21st April: «Mi hermano Walter» by Samanta Schweblin and «El aljibe» by Mariana Enríquez.

Dr Mariana Casale: MA in English Literature (London), PhD Latin American Cultural Studies (Manchester), doctoral thesis on Jorge Luis Borges. Specialist in comparative literature, short and experimental fiction, and Narrative Bibliotherapy . Literary consultant, facilitator and trainer.
