Reading is a wonderful way to deepen your knowledge of a language as it opens up a new level of access, from discursive texts to reaching a cultural understanding of the countries where the language is spoken. For this reason, the Reading Club in the Jorge Edwards Library at Instituto Cervantes is organising a new term of the Latin-American Literature workshop that will analyse the plots and narratives of Latin-American authors.

The sessions will cover the following texts:

22nd April: “Sensini” by Roberto Bolaño (Llamadas telefónicas, 1997) and selected stories from Antonio di Benedetto.

6th May: “Residencia” by  Margarita García Robayo (Primera persona, 2017)

20th May: “En el organismo” by Florencia Abbate: (Felices hasta que amanezca, 2017) and “Sofía” by Margarita García Robayo (Hay ciertas cosas que una no puede hacer descalza, 2009)

10th June: “Rina”, “Susy” and “Mary” by Margarita García Robayo (Hay ciertas cosas que una no puede hacer descalza, 2009)

24th June: “Hojas de afeitar” by Lina Meruane, “Olingiris” by Samanta Scheweblin (Pájaros en la boca, 2017) and “Nada de carne sobre nosotras” by Mariana Enríquez (Las cosas que perdimos en el fuego, 2009)
