Latin American Literature: 'Conurbe. Cartografía de una experiencia'

Latin American Literature: 'Conurbe. Cartografía de una experiencia' Nick Chaffe

Instituto Cervantes in Manchester is launching a new edition of its Latin American Literature Reading Club led by Dr Mariana Casale. A space aimed at native and non-native speakers to discover the new styles and narratives of Latin American literature, through established authors and also discovering the most promising new writers.

Sessions, by videoconference platform Zoom, also approach literature through bibliotherapy, assuming that reading and writing have good properties for readers.

The new edition is dedicated to the reading of the anthology Conurbe. Cartografía de una experiencia, edited and prefaced by Julián López. An anthology of stories that take place in the territory of the conurbation, with established authors who explore, through a multiplicity of narrative resources, an iconic space in the history of Argentina.

The six sessions are dedicated to the following stories:

-15th September: "Una excursión a Los Indios 1492" by Fernando Verissimo and "Casa alquilada" by Hugo Salas.

-29th September: "La dama de la noche" by Alejandra Zina and "Pilar Express" by Claudia Piñeiro.

-13th October: "Selmira Charif, odalisque intransigente" by Camila Sosa Villada and "Una vida dedicada" by Selva Amada.

-27th October: "Fruta de estación" by Sebastián Pandolfelli and "Infancia" by Gabriela Cabezón Cámara.

-10th November: "Bicicletas" by Dolores Reyes and "Fosfeno" by Carla Maliandi.

-24th November: "Los transplantados" by Inés Garland and "Julián" by Katya Adaui.
