IC Manchester
The Spanish Civil War left a deep mark on the United Kingdom, and especially on the city of Manchester. Numerous memorials, associations, events, and publications showcase the solidarity and commitment that many British citizens displayed during that time. Our library is proud to house a special collection dedicated to the Spanish Civil War, which includes written testimonies from people who passionately participated in the conflict in various ways: fighting on the front lines, as war correspondents, offering medical aid, providing refuge to displaced children, or mobilizing solidarity campaigns with the Spanish population. In this exhibition, we invite you to delve into this legacy of living memory, through a selection of these testimonies and a look at the social impact that the Spanish Civil War had on this country.
