Programme of Spanish-Inspired Works

Programme of Spanish-Inspired Works Richard Haslam

The Instituto Cervantes Manchester is collaborating with the Salford Symphony Orchestra on a concert dedicated to music inspired by Spain. The programme includes iconic works such as Bolero by Maurice Ravel, Capriccio Espagnol by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Carmen Suite No. 2 by Georges Bizet, and the Concierto de Aranjuez by maestro Joaquín Rodrigo. Through these compositions, the concert offers a European perspective on the richness of Hispanic musical tradition.

The orchestra will be conducted by Marco Giudici and will feature guitarist Richard Haslam as soloist.

Founded in 1947, the Salford Symphony Orchestra is one of the oldest amateur orchestras in the North West of England. Throughout its history, it has maintained a strong commitment to the local community and collaborates regularly with leading cultural institutions in the city, such as the BBC Philharmonic, the Royal Northern College of Music, and the Bridgewater Hall. Its repertoire ranges from major symphonic works to contemporary compositions.
