Ignífugas
The Instituto Cervantes, in collaboration with the University of Liverpool and as part of the Peers Symposium, presents the screening of the documentary Ignífugas (2022). A documentary project developed from a feminist, intergenerational and intersectional perspective. In it are the life stories of seven women: Laura; Naira; Eva; Mar; Rafaela; Paula and Paquita. Their experiences are shaped by gender and class, which have been systematically invisibilized. Despite the age difference, they all share experiences of inequality, violence and precariousness.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with one of the protagonists and Dr. Abigail Loxham (University of Liverpool).
The documentary will be screened on 18 March at the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester and on 19 March at the University of Liverpool.
