Guineu

Barcelona-based composer and singer Aida Giménez hides behind Guineu, her unique indie pop project in Catalan with a riot girl attitude that blends delicate melodies with a trashy aesthetic, giving rise to what can now be labelled as #CuquiTrash. The sound draws from 80s punk, 90s new wave, and 2000s pop influences. In just over two years, Guineu has recorded her debut album, Forats negres, collaborated with Rufus T. Firefly after winning the Movistar+ Rookies competition, worked with artists such as Joan Colomo, wrote the song of the year with 'Putu Any' (also a finalist for the 2021 Premi Cerverí for best song lyrics), and performed at Primavera Sound 2022, solidifying her position as one of the most interesting and unique acts in the Catalan music scene today. In February 2023, she released her second album, Una sacsejada, which takes listeners on a journey through inner chaos and doubts.
