Fermin Etxegoien
Instituto Cervantes de MánchesterFermin Etxegoien. Journalist and writer, Fermín Etxegoien has published five books, the most recent being the novel Totelak (2021). As a journalist, he has worked in television, radio, and print media, establishing a diverse and distinguished career across the field. He was awarded the Euskadi Prize for Literature and the Critics' Prize for his novel Autokarabana (2009). In 2020, he received the Lauaxeta Prize, granted by the Bizkaia Provincial Council, for his role as director and co-writer of the documentary Egunak eta Lanak, which commemorates the centenary of Euskaltzaindia. Etxegoien was co-director and writer of the social issues programme Ur Handitan (ETB1) from 2017 to 2019, and he served as presenter and writer of the late-night magazine show Autentikoak (ETB1) in 2019. He was also the presenter and director of the interview programme Berandu Baino Lehen (ETB1) in 2016. Throughout his career, he has been recognised with the Argia Award on three occasions: in 2010, in the radio category, for the programme Ekaitz Perfektua; in 2006, in the print category, for his television critique in Berria; and in 2002, as part of a collective recognition for the radio station Bilbo Hiria.
