Ex Libris: Publications in Hispanic Studies

Hispanic studies are deeply rooted in British and American universities, where their professors and researchers publish several articles and books on Spain and Latin America that contribute to the expansion of knowledge of these studies, open up new lines of research and advance the knowledge acquired.

Instituto Cervantes in Manchester and Leeds, in collaboration with the Durham University, organise the new series "Ex Libris: Publications in Hispanic Studies", coordinated by Professor H. Rosi Song (Durham University), to disseminate these new monographs.
The first edition has a diverse profile with books dedicated to fashion (Fashioning Spain: From Mantillas to Rosalía, by Francisco Fernández Alba & Marcela T. Garcés), music (Dissonances of Modernity: Music, Text and Performance in Modern Spain, by Irene Gómez-Castellano & Aurélie Vialette), film (The Spanish Quinqui Film: Delinquency, Sound, Sensation, by Tom Whittaker) and literature (Ascent to Glory. How One Hundred Years of Solitude Was Written and Became a Global Classic, by Álvaro Santana-Acuña).

H. Rosi Song is Professor of Spanish at Durham University and author of Lost in Transition: Constructing Memory in Contemporary Spain (2016), and co-editor of the volumes Traces of Contamination: Unearthing Francoist Legacy in Contemporary Spanish Discourse (2005) and Towards a Cultural Archive of la Movida: Back to the Future (2013). She has published widely on contemporary Spanish culture, film and literature.
