Dreaming of Words

On Tuesday 7 June, the documentary Dreaming of Words (Nandam, 2021) bring us the story of Njattyela Sreedharan, a fourth standard drop-out, who compiled a dictionary connecting four major Dravidian languages. The film traces Sreedharan's life, work, love for languages and the struggles to get the dictionary published. The film also explores the linguistic and cultural diversity in India.

The screening will be accompanied by an introduction by the director Nandam (via Zoom) + Q&A with Dr Khawla Badwan (Manchester Metropolitan University).
