International Women's Day 2025: Women in poetry
On International Women's Day, the library highlights the work of women who, throughout the centuries, have raised their voices in poetry.
Through them, we acknowledge their work, their testimony, and their struggle for a world free of discrimination and stereotypes.
We also introduce readers to the names and verses of great figures in literary history, as well as new voices from various Spanish-speaking countries.
Books by Rosalía de Castro, Alejandra Pizarnik, Gabriela Mistral, Olvido García Valdés, Ada Salas, Coral Bracho, Rocío Cerón, Espido Freire, Cristina Peri Rossi, Julia Uceda, Ana Rossetti, Daniela Ema Aguinsky, Juana de Ibarbourou, Aurora Luque, Mariluz Escribano, María Victoria Atencia, Chantal Maillard, Dona Stonecipher, Elisabet Velasquez, Concha García, Ida Vitale, Mirta Rosenberg, Gloria Fuertes, Francisca Aguirre, Olga Orozco, Juana Inés de la Cruz, Monserrat Cano, Greta Monteo Barra and Blanca Varela are displayed.
