Checopolaco

Checopolaco is the artistic project of Julián Méndez (1985), a young veteran and indomitable 'enfant terrible' of Granada's music and of the pop and rock scene in this country. He is also known for being a founding member of Lori Meyers from 1998 to 2006, bassist of Los Planetas from 2010 to 2021, and captain of the incipient record label Lojasound Records. Checopolaco was born in 2008 to give free rein to the artistic concerns of the prolific Julián, and has released four albums to date: Checopolaco (2012), Clavulánico (2015), Tres pasos (2019) and Regular (2021). He currently plays live in a power trio format, together with Antonio Domínguez and Alberto Ortiz from Loja.
