Cangura para todo

Instituto Cervantes in Manchester continues its series in 2024 to promote children's literacy skills Tell Me a Story, coordinated by Magaly Flores, this year's storytelling series is dedicated to Gloria Fuertes.

Celebrate with us the International Mother Language Day by exploring the works of Gloria Fuertes, one of the most renowned authors in Spanish children's literature. On this occasion, we will read Cangura para todo, one of her early titles that was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Hans Christian Andersen International Prize for Children's Literature in 1975.

The story narrates the tale of a kangaroo hired as a domestic employee, leading to numerous fun and foolish situations until she has to return to Australia one day. Will she be able to go back home?

The storytelling session also aims to encourage creativity, so after the story reading, there will be a creative activity with the attending children.
