Aires de España

The Instituto Cervantes Manchester, in collaboration with The Iberian and Latin American Music Society, is pleased to present "Aires de España", a selection of Spanish repertoires that include some of the most iconic soprano romanzas from Spain's lyrical heritage.

On this occasion, we will enjoy the Dúo Gimeno-Sanchís, with the soprano Aida Gimeno García and the pianist Carlos Sanchís Aguirre presenting a programme that highlights Siete canciones populares españolas by Manuel de Falla, alongside pieces by Bautista and Falla in collaboration with the renowned writer María Lejárraga, and concludes with a selection of zarzuela arias by José Serrano, Miguel Marqués, and Ruperto Chapí, celebrating the vitality of this lyrical heritage.
