17 Sustainable Development Goals illustrated

17 Sustainable Development Goals illustrated Maru Aguzzi

Culture is a cross-cutting axis and a key sector for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as Global Goals, which were set out in September 2015 by world leaders who are part of the United Nations. In what is known as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, they adopted a plan to achieve a set of global and interconnected goals over 15 years, aimed at eradicating poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring prosperity for all.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda are: No poverty; Zero hunger; Good health and well-being; Quality education; Gender equality; Clean water and sanitation; Affordable and clean energy; Decent work and economic growth; Industry, innovation and infrastructure; Reduced inequalities; Sustainable cities and communities; Responsible consumption and production; Climate action; Life below water; Life on land; Peace, justice and strong institutions; and Partnerships for the goals.

Gran Salón México, an independent initiative that combines curatorship and the management of illustrators with a creative agency, has selected seventeen illustrators from Mexico, Spain, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. Their work highlights the vibrant moment that illustration is experiencing in the Spanish-speaking world, through technically and formally diverse proposals.
