Walkative: From Mile End To The City. A Choreography Of The Resistence
This work features Graham Farrell, an unemployed man from the Mile End neighbourhood in east London, one of the city's earliest suburbs. Graham Farrell dances. His movements are based on architecture, on the people who pass through the neighbourhood and on the small obstacles we encounter in our environment. When Graham dances, there is no music. His movements become an act of resistance against the neoliberal society on the other side of the City. Dancing is also an exercise in relaxation and empowerment in the face of the fast-paced and artificial world of big cities. Session presented and moderated by Argentine-born Los Angeles film director Sergio Bonacci Lapalma, aka Chapete.
