Utskor: Either/or
Laida Lertxundi, who until 2013 had set all her films under the Californian sun while living in Los Angeles, moved her filming to the frozen city of Utskor in the Bo region of northern Norway, a place where an almost magical phenomenon occurs: the midnight sun, which can be seen 24 hours a day.
With this work, she began a new phase in which she incorporated the first direct historical references into her work, which until then had been much more focused on the here and now. Thus, we find memories of a political past intertwined with domestic and family moments, heralding new paths with a certain autobiographical rooting. Session
presented and moderated by Argentine-born, Angelino-based film director Sergio
Bonacci Lapalma, aka Chapete.
