The landscape, a fundamental element in Patiño's cinema, has ceased to be a purely realistic reference and has become an artistic construction, bringing him closer to abstraction. To this end, he also introduces the concept of the border in formal terms, experimenting with the use of colour in the image, which blurs the classic separation between background and figure, turning the characters into just another element of the landscape that dominates the work and emphasising the timeless and quasi-spectral aspect of what happened there as a means of recovering their stories and legends.
