They Shall Not Move Us

They Shall Not Move Us No nos moverán

In collaboration with FIACINE and the Instiuto Cervantes in Los Angeles, Mexico's Film Academy presents at the Instituto Cervantes the feature film They Shall Not Move Us  for consideration for the 2026 Oscar for Best International Feature Film. From the grey morality of the protagonist, a woman with a sullen gaze and a husky voice, to the hypnotic black-and-white photography, everything in They Shall Not Move Us, the debut feature film by filmmaker Pierre Saint-Martin Castellanos, moves confidently in the realm of Mexican film noir.

Synopsis: Socorro is a lawyer who lives bitterly in the twilight of her life. Unexpectedly, one day she receives the clue she has been waiting for a long time to locate the soldier who, fifty years ago, murdered her brother. Despite her delicate state of health, she decides to carry out an operation to finally bring him to justice and avenge his death.
