Nine days
In its third screening of the Bobinas de Platino series, the Cervantes Institute offers film lovers the screening of Nine days / Nove dias, the debut film of the Brazilian director based in Los Angeles Edson Oda. The screening will be followed by a meeting between the audience and the director. Nine days is a philosophical drama about a man, Will, who interviews souls for the chance to be born. Living in a remote house, Will observes the lives of people on Earth through television screens and selects a soul he believes worthy to live there. Called with a vacancy for the occupation of a soul, Will begins a series of interviews over the course of nine days, during which he tests each candidate's spirit and understanding of existence. The film won its Official Selection in 2020 to participate in that year's Sundance Film Festival.
