Mariana: Velázquez’s Portrait of a Queen

A guided tour at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena of the magnificent portrait of Queen Mariana of Austria by Diego Velázquez, on loan from the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid. Velázquez's work is displayed alongside those of other 17th-century Spanish painters such as Francisco de Zurbarán and Jusepe de Ribera, as well as artists whose works were collected by the Habsburg court, such as Nicolas Poussin and Peter Paul Rubens.
