Le rêve est fini

Is an autonomous Africa possible? This question is key to analysing this work, which tells the story of a continent devastated, for the most part, by European colonialism and a population forced to emigrate and “dream of Europe” from the other side. A fictitious dream and an illusion, which in most cases ends tragically in the Mediterranean Sea. This piece is mainly set in Lampedusa, the Italian territory closest to Tunisia. The illusion has been shattered not only in Arab countries after the social revolutions of 2011, but also in Europe, where working conditions are becoming increasingly precarious.
