Gustavo Faverón: Mario Vargas LLosa in Memoriam

Closing the Aljamía 2025 cycle, dedicated to promoting the translation of Spanish literature and coordinated by the Literature and Thought technical area of the Culture Department at the Cervantes Institute's headquarters in Madrid, the Cervantes Institute in Los Angeles is organizing a literary event entitled Gustavo Faverón; Mario Vargas Llosa in Memoriam. The event, which will take place on November 17, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in conference format, will feature the participation of Peruvian journalist, writer, and Hispanist from Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine, Gustavo Faverón, one of the most prominent Hispanic American writers of his generation and a profound connoisseur of the work of the recently deceased Nobel Prize winner for Literature, the recently deceased Nobel Prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa.
