Birdie

Birdie Birdie

The UCLA Center for the Performing Arts, in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute in Los Angeles, presents Birdie, by the Señor Serrano Theater Company, an exciting multimedia performance that explores the disconnect between two very different realities: one of societies ravaged by war and economic instability, and another in which the population enjoys a life of leisure and economic prosperity. Using live video projection, models, 2,000 miniature animals, and even a reinterpretation of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, three performers set out to explore our chaotic world with wit, criticism, and a commitment to humanity. Performances on January 23 and 24. Organized by ICLA in collaboration with CAP UCLA, following the premiere on the 23rd, the company will hold a Q&A with the audience in the same venue, moderated by Meryl Friedman, Director of Education and Special Initiatives at CAP UCLA, with the participation of Prof. Andrew Verstein from UCLA School of Law, a specialist in theater and law.
