Aloma i Mila is the first fiction film made by Tuixén Benet, in which he integrates his usual practice in dance and choreography into many moments of the story. The two protagonists express themselves not through dialogue, but through movement, gestures and body language. Aloma and Mila are played by Ángela Boix and Andrea Just, two of the director's regular collaborators, and their characters are inspired by two heroines of contemporary Catalan literature. Mila was created in 1905 by Víctor Catalá, pseudonym of the writer Caterina Albert, in the novel Solitud, and Aloma gave her name to the work of the same title by Mercè Rodoreda, written in 1936.
Session presented and moderated by the Argentine-born Los Angeles-based film director Sergio Bonacci Lapalma, aka Chapete.
