I am still here Ainda estou aqui

The film Ainda estou aqui is a political biographical drama directed by Walter Salles in 2024 from a screenplay by Murilo Hauser and Heitor Lorega based on the book of the same name by Brazilian writer Marcelo Rubens Paiva. It stars Fernanda Torres and Fernanda Montenegro, who play the same character, Eunice Paiva, in two different periods of her life. It had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, where it received critical acclaim, with unanimous positive reviews for Torres' performance, receiving the award for best screenplay. It was named one of the five best international films of 2024 by the National Board of Review and considered one of the best films of the year by the specialized magazines BBC and Sight & Sound. At the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, Torres won Best Actress - Drama, while the film was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. At the 97th Oscar Awards, the film received a total of three nominations: Best Picture, Best Actress for Torres and was awarded Best International Film. Ainda estou aqui is the first Brazilian film to be nominated for Best Picture and to win an Oscar.
