Viñateros - A spanish wine revolution
Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate’s reviewer for Spain, Argentina, Chile and Jura, will present his book The New Vignerons with a tasting of wines from a handful of producers that showcase the significant increase in quality that Spanish wine has undergone in the last decade. He will walk you through the different regions tasting some of the most exciting and sough-after wines from people that are unearthing forgotten local varieties, wine styles and traditions in a return to the past. What unites this collectivity is their belief that great wine is made in the vineyard, and that site expression is more important than winemaking technique. The London Viñateros tasting on 25 February will allow sommeliers, retailers and wine buyers to get up-close-and-personal with over 75 leading Spanish artisan growers who will be presenting their wines. Some of the participating producers are: Envínate, Comando G, Dominio del Aguila, Casa Castillo, Celler del Roure, Raventos, Telmo Rodriguez, Sara i René Viticultores and Guímaro.
