Ellas Flamenco - Rosario La Tremendita

Instituto Cervantes is collaborating in the twentieth edition of the Flamenco Festival to be held from 27 May to 8 June 2025, with an exceptional programme in venues such as Sadler's Wells Theatre, Lilian Baylis Studio, Sadler's Wells East, Kings Place and Jazz Café. In this edition, the festival will feature 17 companies and a total of 25 performances by some of the most important artists on the current flamenco scene, both in dance and in vocals and guitar. Rosario La Tremendita, one of flamenco's most daring and innovative artists, presents Matancera. This innovative show reimagines the ancient rituals of the matanza - a community event deeply rooted in Spanish tradition - through contemporary flamenco. With its distinctive combination of raw emotion, avant-garde soundscapes and poetic lyricism, it invites audiences to explore themes of transformation, irony, community and shared human passions. Matancera is a visceral journey that fuses traditional flamenco with experimental elements, connecting past and present. Accompanied by a stellar cast of musicians, La Tremendita's powerful voice and magnetic stage presence promise an unforgettable evening full of art and soul.
