Nătīvĭtăs - Christmas Concert
Instituto Cervantes in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in the UK and ILAM (The Iberian and Latin American Music Society) present a Christmas concert of classical music entitled Nātīvitās.
The concert features a programme that intertwines original arrangements of music from the Mediterranean and the New World.
The evening will feature ancient Marian cantigas, Sephardic Hanukkah melodies, Spanish carols and Neapolitan lullabies: music steeped in traditions of devotion and joy. Drawing inspiration from early Christian, Jewish, Moorish Al-Andalus, and folk traditions, the programme will explore the themes of the Nativity and celebration across cultures.
The early and traditional music ensemble La Locura will perform the works, arranged for performance by singer Ana Beard Fernández.
