Classical Music Concert for Europe Day 2026
Instituto Cervantes
On the occasion of Europe Day, this piano and cello concert offers a journey through some of the landmarks of the European musical repertoire of the 19th and 20th centuries, bringing together elegance, lyricism, and character. The programme features two movements from César Franck’s Sonata in A major, a prime example of late French Romanticism, alongside the celebrated Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy in Gaspar Cassadó’s refined arrangement for cello and piano, and concludes with Cassadó’s Requiebros, a vibrant work that fuses instrumental virtuosity with Spanish musical tradition. A sonic dialogue between different European sensibilities that celebrates the cultural diversity of the continent through music.
