The Hunt

The Hunt Videomercury/Egeda

With this story of a hunt that brings together three old friends, Carlos Saura begins a metaphorical cinema that he would develop with the Spanish producer Elías Querejeta in the 1960s. Despite major problems with the prevailing censorship in Spain at the time, the film - winner of the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin Film Festival - managed to show the winners and losers of the Spanish Civil War in an interesting decomposition of Franco's patriarchy that is still surprising today for the impact of its images.
Synopsis: Three friends and the young relative of one of them plan to enjoy a pleasant day of hunting in a private hunting ground. Personal problems and tensions between them will surface until the day turns into hell, as a reflection of the battle that took place in the same hunting ground during the civil war.
