Intrépidas: female traveller-writers

On the occasion of the series of conferences on travellers that our centre is organising, and specifically with the conference "Putting the Spotlight on Women: Female Travellers and Gender" on 25 September, we offer our readers a selection of books by and about women travellers, many of whom visited our country, especially during the 19th and 20th centuries, and who left their impressions of the Spain they encountered. Some of these intrepid and daring women travellers travelled alone, others accompanied by their husbands, and each book has a different vision of our country that distinguishes these women writers from their male counterparts.
