Organised by the European Union National Institutes for Culture in London (EUNIC London), the European Literature Network in the UK and the British Library, thirty established and emerging writers will take part in the third edition of the festival. Following the success of its 2023 and 2024 editions, the festival returns in 2026 as a biennial event.
At a time when Europe is once again shaken by war and division, the European Writers’ Festival seeks to demonstrate that community, debate, entertainment and storytelling can bring us together to foster hope and positive transformation. The festival provides a platform for writers to discuss and read from their latest works translated into English, and to reflect collectively on what transformation means to them. It offers a unique opportunity to encounter a wide range of leading European writers in one place over the course of a weekend.

Discontent
Discontent is a novel that portrays with irony and clarity the everyday unease of a young woman trapped in job insecurity, personal frustration and the unfulfilled expectations of her generation. Through a sharp and mordant perspective, the narrative explores the alienation of contemporary work, emotional relationships and a persistent sense of disillusionment. Beatriz Serrano crafts an intimate and recognisable portrait of modern malaise, combining humour, social critique and a direct, incisive narrative voice.
