Flamenco Gala 2023: Manuel Liñán, Alfonso Losa & El Yiyo. Special Guest “Carrete de Málaga”
Lorenzo Carnero"Carrete" and his long career makes us reflect on the evolution of dance over the years and the different ways in which a man's body is capable of shaping flamenco dance. This reflection becomes movement in the show Gala Flamenca. Therefore, Carrete's personality, a man of race, ambiguous, fighter and lover of art, is the driving force behind the celebration of the passing of time and the evolution of this art form. A show impregnated by the qualities that this great artist transmits to us from his maturity: freedom, race, naturalness, love and respect. The show is directed by choreographer and dancer Manuel Liñán, winner of the 2017 National Dance Prize. With a transcendental gift, Liñán awakens the wildest rhythms, images and possibilities of dance (The Financial Times UK, 2017). "Carrete" and Manuel Liñán are accompanied on stage by two of the most notable dancers on the current scene: Alfonso Losa (Critics' Prize at the Jerez Festival 2022 and the most contemporary of the classical dancers) and El Yiyo, an exponent of the most racial flamenco who stands out for his charisma and authenticity; they are accompanied by an exceptional cast headed by the cantaora Sandra Carrasco, bearer of one of the most special voices of the new flamenco.
