Forum Cervantes at the University of Cambridge with Gabriela Wiener Gabriela Wiener

Gabriela Wiener is a Peruvian writer and journalist based in Madrid. She has authored the books Sexografías, Llamada perdida, Nueve lunas, Huaco retrato and Dicen de mí and the poetry collections Ejercicios para el endurecimiento del espíritu and Una pequeña fiesta llamada Eternidad. Her first stories were published in the narrative journalism magazine Etiqueta Negra. She was a columnist for the New York Times en Español, editor-in-chief of Marie Claire in Spain and a contributor to a large number of international media. She now publishes a weekly column for publico.es. 


She won a National Journalism Award in Peru for her report on a case of gender-based violence. She has crafted several performances which she has performed with her family. She wrote and starred in the play Qué locura enamorarme yo de ti. She is part of @Sudakasa, a collective project of migrant art and writing. Undiscovered, the English translation of her novel Huaco retrato, was longlisted for the International Booker Prize 2024 and PEN America. @gabrielawiener.
