Echoes Festival of Latin Classical Music

Echoes Festival of Latin Classical Music ILAMS

Echoes Festival was launched in 2016 as the new flagship project of ILAMS (the Iberian and Latin American Music Society), in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute. Artistic Director: Helen Glaisher-Hernández. Now in its 4th year, the Festival has brought unique classical Iberican programming to some of London's most prestigious venues, whilst providing a platform to some of the most authentic and illustrious voices within Latin classical music today. In 2019 there is much to celebrate: the big event this year is the 400th anniversary of Mexican composer Juan García de Zéspedes, and we also mark the centenary of Brazilian composer Cláudio Santoro, as well as those of Cuban composer María Alvarez Ríos and Brazilian composer, Hilda Pires dos Reis as part of a new strand of events showcasing the forgotten voices of women Latina composers. We've teamed up with King's College London to offer a new Young Talents educational platform with free open masterclasses on 19th Oct, whilst we continue our collaboration with the Royal Academy of Music to promote contemporary music and living composers on 1 Nov. And for all those record collectors out there, Ray Picot will be presenting a new music appreciation event on 24th Oct titled Ray's Round-Up LIVE!, focusing on the music of Enrique Granados.
