World Book Day 2026

To mark World Book Day, taking place on Thursday 23 April, Instituto Cervantes London, through its Library Department, will host a programme of activities from 21 to 24 April.
During this week, schools will receive a 10% discount when booking any workshop from our “Cervantes for Schools” programme, provided the booking is made between 21 and 24 April.
All activities during the week will include:
For school students:
- An introduction to the legend of Sant Jordi, followed by a quiz to test what participants have learned.
- A themed photocal featuring Don Quixote, Sancho Panza and Dulcinea.
- Prizes in the form of books and roses.
For the general public:
- Don Quixote photocall: enjoy taking photos with some of the characters from this universal novel.
- Free books and roses (one per person, while stocks last).
- 20% discount on the annual library membership throughout the week (for new members, membership renewals, and students who wish to enjoy the library’s resources for a full year).
