To celebrate International Women’s Day, Instituto Cervantes is pleased to host this show which merges spoken word and music, immerses audiences in the works of 17th-century Ibero-American female writers such as Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Santa Teresa de Jesús, Ana Caro and María de Zayas and explores their mystical legacies.
The performance features Paula Rodríguez accompanied by Arthur Astier on guitar.
Mystical Ecstasy creates an intimate space to connect with the message that lies in these female stories and voices.
The use of live narrations, a sound visualiser and subtitles ensures an inclusive experience for visually and hearing-impaired individuals and international audiences, with the aims being to break down barriers and take the theatrical experience to new heights.
